Jackson McKenna, Founder & Owner of "Two If By Sea" Coin Co.
Thank you for being here and for taking an interest in my coin shop. Opening this shop has been a dream of mine, and I’m truly honored to share it with you.
Coin collecting has always held a special place in my heart. It began as a meaningful connection with my dad. As a boy, he would take me to the local coin shop and help me find the next coin for my Dansco 7070 U.S. Type Set. What started as a fun father-son hobby quickly grew into a real passion.
That passion deepened when I got a job at that same local coin shop, Allgood Coin, in my hometown of St. George, Utah. I was fortunate to learn the ins and outs of buying, selling, and appraising coins from the Nelson Family some of the best in the business.
Eventually, I moved to Virginia to attend law school, and that transition played a big role in the decision to start my own shop. Being away from home pushed me to carry on the legacy of what I’d learned and to create something of my own. That’s how "Two If By Sea" Coin Co. was born.

Almost 20 years ago, I introduced Jackson to coin collecting.
On that day, I pulled my oversized, cardboard fruit box off a top shelf in my closet and let my young son hold Wheat Pennies, Buffalo Nickels and Mercury Dimes. I explained that my “collection” consisted mostly of coins my grandmothers gave me. I also showed him my “prized” three cent piece and low grade Carson City dime that I’d purchased with paper route money when I was twelve.
I watched his little-boy-eyes light up, as his tiny fingers held and admired Franklin halfs, Morgan dollars and Bicentennial quarters that I saved from my days delivering newspapers in Las Vegas.
Now, Jackson is a man with his own family. His boyhood interest has grown into a powerful passion. I am amazed at his knowledge and his quest for excellence in all aspects of his coin business.
I am proud to be Jackson’s business partner and overjoyed to combine my interest in coins with my love for American history. At “Two if by Sea,” we believe these two passions synergize together, because coins are history. They are history you can hold, history you can share, and history you can cherish.
